Vital View - Champions League, 14th-15th Feb 2017
The Champions League season continued with the latest round of games played in midweek.
Here's a round up of the Champions League action from the other games.
Tuesday 14th February 2017 - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - ROUND OF 16
Benfica 1-0 Borussia Dortmund 19:45
Paris Saint Germain 4-0 Barcelona 19:45
Wednesday 15th February 2017 - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - ROUND OF 16
Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal 19:45
Real Madrid 3-1 Napoli 19:45
A narrow advantage was taken into the second leg of Benfica's tie with Borussia Dortmund in Germany in a few weeks time when the Portuguese side recorded a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. This win - and a cleansheet to boot - means Dortmund have little room for error if they want to make the last eight.
Paris Saint Germain's incredible 4-0 win over multi time European champions Barcelona at the Parc des Princes means the French side are all but assured of a quarter-final place. This stunning victory for PSG means Barca - who will still be in shock - require a minor miracle at the Nou Camp to prevent Uni Emery's side from advancing.
Wednesday saw Bayern Munich close in on a place in the quarter-finals as Bayern saw the PSG win over Barcelona - 4-0 at the Parc des Princes - and raised it with a 5-1 win over Arsenal. The Gunners' Champions League bid has ended in the last 16 so many times over the years with the Premier League side needing a minor miracle at the Emirates Stadium to avoid this again.
Holders Real Madrid have a strong grip on their tie with Napoli too with a place in the last eight looking good. Recovering from slipping behind to an early goal Zinedine Zidane's side recovered to win 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, that away goal could prove crucial to the Italian side in the Naples return.
