Ballack - Bayern Better For Ozil Than Arsenal

Ballack - Bayern Better For Ozil Than Arsenal

Michael Ballack has said he expects Mesut Ozil to sign a new contract with Arsenal but has suggested a move to Bayern Munich would be tempting for the German international.

Ballack knows from his experiences in the Premier League with Chelsea what London is like and says the capital is one of the 'most beautiful' cities around so could be enough of a draw alone to keep Ozil in England.

With Ozil an instrumental player at Arsenal - despite him being an outstanding footballer that many clubs would want - Ballack also said this order of importance will also impact on his decision.

A new contract is something Ballack expects Ozil to eventually commit to at the Emirates Stadium.

Ballack was quoted by Bild - via the London Evening Standard - as saying.

'Mesut Ozil is an outstanding footballer. Many clubs like him. But he knows that he enjoys a very high place at Arsenal. He lives in London, one of the most beautiful cities ever.'

Adding.

'To this end, Arsenal is a club that has an incredible impact on the world. If you are a top player in England, the cult around you is bigger than in Germany. You are treated more respectfully, especially. These are all reasons for an extension.'

However, if Bayern did make an approach for 28 year old Ozil despite all the pros in favour of committing his future to Arsenal the better chance to win trophies would come with the Bavarians.

With Ballack concluding this could prove tempting to the midfielder.

'But if he could win something big, the chance at Bayern is, in my opinion, bigger.'
